Dionne J. Jones, PhD

Dr. Dionne J. Jones, mother of Dr. Dustin T. Duncan, came out of retirement to work as President for the Dustin Duncan Research Foundation. She is committed to public health and social justice issues among marginalized populations, especially people of color, women and girls, people living with HIV, substance users and criminal justice involved populations (and the intersection of these groups). Her position, as a Caribbean Black woman who raised three Black boys in America, shaped her commitment to research and service work with marginalized communities. She was an active parent committed to fighting against the unfair treatment of Black people in education, including fighting against discrimination in the educational system of her sons’ schooling and throughout their adult lives.
